It's been a while since I shared a walkie talkie.. It's been a while since I shared a walkie talkie...

But this is BIG, so I just had to share.

Change is afoot.

Our holiday this summer had it all! Temperate rai Our holiday this summer had it all!

Temperate rainforest ✔️
Waterfall ✔️
Beautiful gardens ✔️
Glorious sunsets ✔️
Sandy beaches ✔️

Lots of walking, good food and obviously the odd ice cream.

But can you guess where I went?

I'll give you a clue... We didn't have to spend hours in queues at an airport, check in, go through security, hang around some more or eat rubbish food on a flight.

We didn't have to separate liquids when we were packing or prove we had a passport that was in date.

We packed the car up with all the shoes, food, towels and supplies we needed - even a box of eggs!

And we hit the road....

To Cornwall.

We explored the stunning rugged coastline, the gorgeous sandy beaches, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and St Nectans waterfall.

We had stunning beach days in the sunshine, a couple of cooler showery days and overall, the most wonderful, relaxing break.

Nature will do that for you and you don't have to travel too far to find it.

My cup is full.

It's a beautiful August Bank Holiday 🌞 Warm an It's a beautiful August Bank Holiday 🌞

Warm and sunny, but not too hot. Just perfect.

We'll definitely be heading out to enjoy this glorious weather, I'm not sure what or where yet but it will definitely involve being outdoors.

It feels like an opportunity to feel the warm sun before the summer fades in to Autumn.

And what a summer we've had! In fact spring and summer have been pretty spectacular in the UK.

If only we could hit the pause button. If only every summer could be like this in the future.

I'm constantly keeping an eye on the weather across the Mediterranean, knowing that it won't be that far away before the UK will see an increase in the unbearable, life threatening heat and the escalation in wildfires.

Spain, Greece, France and Italy have long been favourite summer destinations for us but they're no longer a safe bet.

Global warming is hitting them hard. And it's a glimpse of our future.

This years glorious summer for the UK will be one we look back on with fondness in years to come. The increase in temperatures in the future will be relentless. We cannot just decide that this is the weather we'd like to keep and pressing pause on our warming climate.

Make the most of days like today. But know the relentless, life threatening heat will arrive in our lifetime. Are you prepared?
Friday Fact - Did you know there are currently en Friday Fact -

Did you know there are currently enough items of clothing on our planet to dress the next 6 generations?
Of 8 billion people! 😕

Not exactly sustainable consumer behaviour!

So we need to adjust our buying habits to reduce demand of newly manufactured clothing.

The good news is, it's easier than ever!

Preloved choices, sustainably made materials, genuinely eco brands - they're all out there.

And they're all included in my Sustainable Clothes Shopping session.

Pop 16th September in your diary and head to the Eventbrite link in my Bio.

You never know, it may even save you money. 😉

Thank you @sarahhaywoodphoto for introducing me to Thank you @sarahhaywoodphoto for introducing me to this hidden beauty spot.

Left to go completely wild, it's a very rare completely natural piece of heaven - for wildlife and for us nature nerds!
Trust is such a huge issue when you invest in an E Trust is such a huge issue when you invest in an Eco brand.

Are they genuinely eco?
Are they ethical?
Are they fair trade?

What will happen when they grow from being a small independent business to a successful business?

Earlier this year, one of the brands I promoted in my RAMP up your Sustainabilty program let us all down by selling out.

And sadly they didn't stick by their principals and sell to a business with similar values.

Wild deodorant seemed to tick all the boxes. Refillable, paraben and phthalate free, aluminium case, UK made... So they were a firm recommendation alongside Fussy @getfussy.

Then they broke our trust and sold out to Unilever - a business with poor ethics who are responsible for huge amounts of plastic waste littering our planet.

Many Wild users were up in arms. They'd not only invested their trust, but had also financially invested in the refillable case.

But I bring you Good news for your #tuesdaytoptip...

The Fussy refills will fit in your Wild case!
So no having to throw away the case, creating more waste. Once you've used up the last of your Wild refills, simply make the switch.

Knowing your money is lining the pockets of a small, ethical business rather than a huge plastic polluting giant is genuinely important to so many of us.

Making the switch couldn't be easier. 👌

I got to hang out with a Womble! On Saturday, I s I got to hang out with a Womble!

On Saturday, I spent the day at the Banbury Green fair.

It was an event organised by the fabulous Dan Ludlow who runs my local zero waste store Nothing but Footprints @refill_not_landfill

As I'm a regular in the shop and see the dedication Dan and his team put in to provide such a vital service, I was more than happy to help when asked to speak and offer support on the day.

As well as speakers, we had live music, stall holders, yoga, an organised foraging walk, plus a litter pick, hence the Womble!

And to see how many locals turned up to support the event was hugely encouraging.

I highly recommend you seeking out your local zero waste store, they're run by genuinely helpful folk and I can vouch for how good it feels to support a small independent business.

It's tomorrow! Saturday 9th August. 🎉🎉 I'm It's tomorrow!

Saturday 9th August. 🎉🎉

I'm a small part of the team bringing Banbury Green fair to life tomorrow.

It's the 2nd year this event has taken place and it's looking to be a fabulous event.

Music, talks, activities and stall holders, plus yoga to kick off the day and even a showing of David Attenboroughs A Life on our Planet. We have it all.

I'm on the speaker line up at 11.30am - talking about Sustainable Tech: simple ways to reduce your digital footprint - so come and say hi.

Dan Ludlow and the fab team at Nothing but Footprints @refill_not_landfill have worked their bamboo socks off to bring this to you, all for free.

We'll be in Lock 29 at @castlequaybanbury - see you there?
What a fabulous morning. 😀 Today was the launc What a fabulous morning. 😀

Today was the launch event for the shiny new @sociallyshared Banbury meetings.

The Socially Shared Womens network has long been one of my favourite places to hang out, but the nearest regional meetings have meant a minimum 30 minute drive, so to see it launch 15 minutes from my front door was a joy!

It was so good to see many familiar faces, all there to support founder Karen Heap and new area host Vicki Fennel @vickif7887

The Cromwell Hotel is a gorgeous venue too (although clearly tricky to get the lighting right for my photos 🫣) and I can't wait to return.

Huge congratulations on a successful launch ladies! 🎉🎉
