Rignt now, I'm feeling very grateful for being my Rignt now, I'm feeling very grateful for being my own boss.

The week started unexpectedly with a trip to the vets. My time set aside to work on the business ended up being spent getting treatment for my chicken with a bad leg.
When I finally got back from the vets and had lunch, the afternoon ended up evaporating as I managed to faff so much time away. 🫣 I did manage to write my latest Blog and send out my Newsletter at least.

Tuesday morning was spent watching my son at his Sports day and I'm so grateful I got to see him win his 60m event.
I just made it home in time to join my @athenawarks Network Leamington home group meeting - another reason to be extremely grateful! These ladies always leave me feeling supported and uplifted.
And the afternoon finished on a high as I'm working on a very exciting collaboration with the utterly wonderful Natasha De Jonghe @re_yous.cic someone who always leaves me feeling like I can achieve anything.
Tuesday was also the first day of Plastic Free July AND the day I opened the doors for the October intake of my RAMP up your Sustainabilty program. 😅

Wednesday morning was spent in the company of some fabulous local business owners at the @thomasflavells Solicitors networking event. Listening to Laura Slack share her knowledge and passion about the @bcorporation process was truly inspiring.

Thursday morning was spent learning about the importance of frameworks from the effervescent @susannareay followed by an overdue catch up with the glorious @chillijody of Chilli promotions.

And this morning saw another very overdue catch up with the incredible @lisajane_grey of the Rumour Mill Creative. We met up in the garden of the @nationalherbcentre and had THE best chat. #workgoals
And I just managed to squeeze in a client call with my Friday group sharing the ins and outs of Recycling, before it was time to collect my kids as they were on a half day.

The afternoon saw another trip to the vets - fortunately the Chook is healing well.

And now we're off out for dinner as, well, it's Friday! Why not?!

I'm absolutely thrilled to bits! Last month I sig I'm absolutely thrilled to bits!

Last month I signed myself up for a day of training with the @carbonliteracy hosted by the wonderful Anne Snelson

And this week I discovered I passed the assessment and am now officially Carbon Literate. I'm absolutely over the moon.

Anne helps you deep dive in to the statistics of which industries release the most amounts of CO2, what the impacts of this are (no, it wasn't pretty and yes it was heartbreaking) and why climate injustice must be a huge part of our focus - so many of the poorest countries are at the brunt of the worst impacts of global warming.

The poorest families are being displaced and unable to make a living as their cattle have died during droughts. Crops are burnt in wildfires, drowned under floods or simply not growing due to drought conditions. For those already living in difficult conditions it's catastrophic.

We also touched on the financial cost of some of the recent climate induced disasters - the LA wildfires earlier this year are set to cost $200 billion in losses, with 100,000 residents now without homes. And once they've rebuilt their homes, they'll be unable to find home insurance.

Anne then rounded off the day with a message of hope. The last COP finally mentions transitioning away from fossil fuels, emissions in China have now plateued and production of solar panels is now cheaper than making plywood.

The UK is also the first country in the world to introduce legally binding climate policies.

By working together on efforts to create innovative solutions and with enough pressure from voters to push through stronger commitments to reducing emissions, we will see progress.

But it has to be quick - so we all need to use our voices. The worst of what is to come is unimaginable.

I'm not going to lie, this morning was a bit emoti I'm not going to lie, this morning was a bit emotional.

I attended this month's network event at @thomasflavells and was particularly excited to hear the speaker Lucy Worrall had invited along.

I first met Laura Slack @bcorplaura at a B Corp event in March and we immediately hit it off.

There's obviously so much synergy in our work so I was really looking forward to hearing more about how she helps businesses attain B Corp certification.

@bcorporation have created a globally recognised certification to show a business has considered employee welfare, fair trade in their supply chain, environmental impact etc and it was hugely encouraging to hear how much their impact is growing.

Being reminded that there are huge numbers of businesses that are genuinely considering their moral and environmental impact as well as financial can't fail to give you hope.

And there are thousands of businesses worldwide that now proudly display their B Corp badge - and rightly so.

But the words from Laura that made me well up on the spot?
She asked us all to think what we would say in 20-30 years time to our children or grandchildren when they ask "what did you do when you found out about climate change?

It hit me simultaneously in the stomach and heart.

What would your answer be?
It really makes you think doesn't it?

I'm Lyn, your Environ-mentor

I'm here to change the narrative around living more sustainably. Small changes to everyday habits really do mount up.

Doors are now open for the next intake of my RAMP up your Sustainabilty program.
Over our monthly sessions and with my support in between, you will learn how to reduce plastics in your home, remove hidden toxins and spot genuinely eco businesses all while discovering how easy and affordable it is to make those all important changes.
The 1st day of July can only mean 1 thing... We'r The 1st day of July can only mean 1 thing...

We're officially in Plastic Free July!

If you've been in my world for a while you've possibly heard me talk about #plasticfreejuly before.

The reason I love talking about it so much? It's the numbers. The staggering volume of people from across the planet that commit to reducing their single use plastic.

I haven't come across a better example that proves "it's not just me"

That old suspicion of "what difference can I make, I'm just one person? goes completely out of the window.

We're now in the 15th year since PFJ was founded in Western Australia and it's impact has been phenomenal.

In 2024 alone over 174 million people from across 190 countries took part.
That's 2.5 times the population of the UK.

And as well as individual participants - thousands of businesses and organisations join in, engaging their employees and networks, making changes to products and packaging, and transforming supply chains to reduce plastic waste.

Changes are as simple as refusing plastic bags, switching from plastic food wrap and avoiding unnecessary packaging and buying in bulk.

Then there's the community engagement from running workshops, organising a reusable cup library at work and writing letters to brands advocating for change.

From schools in India to cafes in New Zealand, not-for-profits in Kenya and banks from Australia to Pakistan, the impact of Plastic Free July is the perfect case study for their motto "small actions, big difference"

... And while we're on the subject of small actions, big difference, I'm thrilled to announce the news you've all been waiting for -

🥳🥳 DOORS ARE NOW OPEN!! 🥳🥳

The next intake for my RAMP up your Sustainabilty program is in October.

So stop struggling with which brands you can trust to be genuinely 'eco'
Stop with the guilt that you 'should be doing more'

And start with the 'I now have my own Environ-mentor' - that person you can ask any question of and that will help with ALL your purchases.

And the best bit? (or 1 of them 😊)
you only need to set aside 1hr a month for our themed sessions, so no overwhelm either.

Want to know more?
Drop me a 💚 in the comments.
It's Monday, but no ordinary Monday. So I wanted t It's Monday, but no ordinary Monday.
So I wanted to check in on you.

Who slept well last night?
Who's coping in this heatwave?

June is usually the coolest summer month in the UK - whether that's the case this year remains to be seen.

The last few weeks have seen report after report in the news about the looming drought - and now we're in the 2nd heatwave of the summer already.

Donyou read these articles, or skim passed them?

Yes, we all know about climate change. We've all heard about global warming.
Why would we want to read the news when we'd rather bury our heads in the sand?

Except we can't afford to bury our heads in the sand. We can't afford to ignore all the alarms bells nature is setting off.

We currently have some control over the rise in global temperatures.

But this won't be the case forever.

There will come a point where the rapid acceleration will be taken out of our hands.

So you may want to read up on those Tipping points. Because humankind needs every single last one of us taking this seriously. And doing as much as we can.

Yes, it's huge. And we all think we can't make a difference. But collectively we absolutely do.
(watch out for tomorrows post if you need confirmation on this)

To maintain a planet that is survivable for all living creatures, we have to act now.

You are not alone in feeling scared, overwhelmed and would much rather ignore the problem. But the result will be things get worse much more quickly.

So if you want to know where to start, follow my #tuesdaytoptip posts - and as soon as you're ready - ask for details on my RAMP up your Sustainabilty program - the most supportive and affordable way of reducing your impact.

I promise you, it's not as difficult as you think.

"The greatest threat to our planet is the belief someone else will save it"

EVERYONE needs a Sam Caldecott @samcaldecottbsp i EVERYONE needs a Sam Caldecott @samcaldecottbsp in their life.

No matter how organised you are, there are never enough hours in the day.

There's always something new to organise, a client to get back to, or a new service to create.

What if you had a business bestie who took care of all the processes, planning, streamlining your tech, kept you accountable and generally made running your business so much easier (while having bit of a giggle in the process.) - allowing you to focus on delivering the thing you set up your business to do in the first place?

Sam is a real life Wonder woman. 🦸 A magician who simply takes all of the 'stuff' whirling round in your head and organises it for you.

I've spent the morning brainstorming with her and already feel so much lighter.

My to do list is either much shorter, automated or documented, all thanks to Sam.

I highly recommend you putting Sam on your list of people to work with - and then pass the list to her so she can make your life so much easier to.

We're not alone. No I don't mean in the Universe, We're not alone.

No I don't mean in the Universe, I mean in our actions.

It's easy to feel like we're the only one quietly buying loose fruit and veg or swapping to a refillable hand soap, but trust me we're not alone.

Next week sees the start of a huge global initiative called #plasticfreejuly.

You may have heard of it.

Plastic Free July was started 14 years again and it's safe to say is having quite an impact on reducing single use plastics. It's very much about reduction, not perfection.

In 2024 alone 174 million people across 190 countries committed to reducing their plastic waste. That is a massive impact.

In fact they estimate that around 12.8 billion kilos of plastic waste has been avoided over the last 6 years alone- and that's just based on those that signed up. There will have been many many more.

Their motto is small steps, big difference - something I very much live by.

Most of us are capable of switching to a reusable water bottle or coffee cup. But what next?

The PFJ website is full of practical advice, so whether you're an individual, a school or a business, there's something for everyone.

But if you don't have time to go trawling through a website, I'm here to help too.

Much of my content for July will be themed around reducing plastic - and why it's so important.

HELP REQUIRED!
So, I'd love to know - what do you find the hardest plastic item to switch away from? Where are you getting stuck.

Drop your sticking point in the comments or via a DM and I'll do my best to include this over the next month.

Today is a good laundry day! It's bright, dry and Today is a good laundry day!

It's bright, dry and breezy - perfect for popping your washing out on the line so it it will dry quickly.

However, there's another reason bright and breezy days are great for doing your laundry...

In the UK we have invested a lot in wind and solar energy - and this week around 70% of power to our grid has come from renewable energy! 👏👏

There's a really helpful app from @neso_energy that shows you where our power is coming from at any one time.

So this weeks #tuesdaytoptip is to download the NESO app to check we're having a good renewables day before switching on your appliances. 😉

Yesterday was all about the Dawnings. Dawnings ar Yesterday was all about the Dawnings.

Dawnings are those moments of realisation of how to stop getting in your own way - those light bulb moments of "I do deserve success and here's the next step to getting there"

Yesterday, I put myself in the hands of her High Vibeness @dawnowencoach for a day of full on and fierce mindset coaching at #highvibelive

And boy does she help shift those limiting beliefs!

I'd started the day feeling drained and quite flat - and ended the day even more drained, but hugely empowered and feeling much more confident about what comes next.

I now have the tools that help me reach higher than I could have imagined. I know what's necessary to figure out my blockers and I have the confidence to step up for myself and my business.

Dawn does that for you. Sending you a heartfelt thank you Dawn. 🫶

Also thank you to Gareth, Lauren and the ridiculously funny @bish_la_la

And to all the incredible ladies in the room for wearing their hearts on their sleeve. It was a pleasure spending the day with you.

Well, here we are. 9am on a Sunday and I'm at the Well, here we are.

9am on a Sunday and I'm at the Windmill Village Hotel for a spot of coaching.

I'm not going to lie, I'm not exactly feeling resilient, in fact I'm a little drained right now.

So attending High Vibe Live #5 is just what I need to help sort my head out.

Let's see if @dawnowencoach can work her magic...

See you on the other side!

Happy Summer Solstice! We are mid summer. 😎 T Happy Summer Solstice!
We are mid summer. 😎

Today is also significant for another reason - it's #showyourstripes day.

If you're not already familiar with the climate stripes, they were created by Professor Ed Dawkins @climatehawkins of Reading University in 2018. The stripes are a powerful visual representation of how temperatures have changed around the world since the industrial revolution.

Each stripe represents a year and shows whether the average temperature that year was above or below average.
The red lines are where the temperature was above average.

This graphic also shows future warming stripes based on current predictions for reducing greenhouses gases.

“These simple graphics help everyone understand the changes to our climate that we are seeing. They help start conversations about the risks of inaction, and the benefits of making different choices about future carbon emissions”

Prof Ed Hawkins
